Hey Guys

Sorry I haven't posted in a bit. I have been sincerely busy, trust me. I got a black 8 gigabyte nano recently, so I have been busy formatting that and such. I have also been busy with peoples and their problems, but I think I am slowing down now. Yesterday, I went to a fourth of July concert in NYC with Sonic Youth and The Feelies. My dad was friends with one of the Feelies, so we had an easy time getting in. I will post again tomorrow with intraweb treasures!

Movie Announcers On An Off Day

It's 11:30. I'm bored. I'm at my grandparents' house. I have a mic, a computer and my grandparents endless supply of piano mp3's. What would you do?

PS: Welcome back Alex.
PSS: It just occurred to me that the post times are wrong. Blogger.com thinks we're in England. Which is funny, cuz the last time I saw a bidet, it was in a... Oh, nevermind. (If you don't know what a bidet is....) But if you do know what it is, and you're not a perv, don't follow that link. It's not friendly.

YEAH!!!!

TROGDOR!!!! Oh yeah. That's right. I went there.

It is coming along...

I am not quite sure how to say this, but I haven't been here for the last week. On Monday the 23, I was given 20 minutes notice that I had the National Youth Leadership Training course to go to. It lasted a week, and I am finally back. It was fun. Anyway, sorry for the lack of postage. I will give you some interweb goodies later today.

SPI v5.0 Release

That's right... Today, the very first version of SinPoints Interactive has been released to the public! If you never check our site (I don't... But hey, whatever, if you do, to each their own...) then check it now; the ALC should be fully functional by Saturday at the latest, and the SPI (SinPoints Interactive) page has a link at the bottom to a MediaFire file that you can download. Unfortunately, it's only available for Windows right now (I have to completely redesign it in JAVA instead of C++ if it will ever be for Mac or Linux, and especially Solaris...) and you have to have the .NET framework installed on your computer.

Incidentally, there's no free way to get the redistributable .NET Framework, so the best way I found was to go to http://www.thefilter.com/ and download the program offered there. It's a semi-useful iTunes plugin, but the author rewrote the .NET and is now giving it away free. But only with his program. So download it, and then go to the SPI page and get the program from there.

Yeah, I know this is total bull.... But without spending tons of cash I really don't have, that's the best way to do it. Sorry.....

Ayo!

Hello everyone. If your only checking the blog and not the site, then do we have a surprise for you. Oh yes. That's right. For a limited time only, (not really, it just sounds nice) we have a sinpoints page. With just a click of the mouse, you can calculate how close you are to going to the fiery depths of Hell. And wait, there's more! Keep watching the site, because in only a few short days, we may be able to put up a new page on the site. Our quotes page will give you hilarious quotes form everyone and anyone who is anything.
Ok, there are a few updates to keep you guys going. Also, as always, here are a few cool things on the intrawebz for you to devour.
Ever wonder how to stay manly? What about not knowing what to get your boyfriend for a present. Keep him manly!
Alright, just like Alex said, a big workday is coming up soon. In fact, we're probably going to work* for around 48 hours** straight. That being said, I have to go back to packing for Princeton. Yes, for those who don't know, I'm going to Princeton for 3 weeks. So I will most likely not be OddPodding for those 3 weeks, but I will try to insert some cynical remarks into the blog from their computer lab.

Ooh, the irony is great; I'm using one of the world's fastest computers not to calculate pi, not to design an intricate model of the known universe, not to simulate particle collisions, not to redistribute the human genome, but to blog. That's right. I will edit the site and add a blog post. From BlueGene.

Alas, the scientific community sheds a tear.

Anyway, did you know that the rat-bastards that run the whole college-institute thing actually screwed up the AC at the campus? That's right. The entire campus, which is basically the size of a small town, has NO air conditioning. So they decided it would be a good idea to go in and invite a bunch of nerds in to "learn". I think they just want us to fix the damn AIR!

"Hey, Ted," says one janitor, "I don't feel like flipping that switch over there."

"Mmmhhh." Says the other.

"You wanna do it?"

"Mmmhhh."

"Think we oughta invite a bunch of kids in to do it for us?"

"Hell yeah."

Priceless.

Oh dear God, PLEASE don't translate that... I got once sentence in and had to stop myself from vomiting. Anyway, Alex and I have decided that he will primarily work the blog, and I will primarily work the site. However, because that was how we planned it, it won't work out that way. But that would be nice.

Almost there

That was the soundboard guy from Russia Jordan spoke of earlier. No worries, he'll be just fine. Don't translate it. Just don't.
Anyway, I think we are relatively close to getting some actual content up. Jordan and I will be putting in a long work day soon, although it is still to be determined where. So until then, you guys will just have to keep on keeping on. Of course, we will most definitely be posting some goodies from the intrawebz for you material hungry hyenas to slobber over. Post again soon,
Alex

A Couple Cool Things

Hey guys,
I found something cool and just thought it would share with you. Actually it isn't just one thing. It is two. The first of the two is something called a word cloud. Yes, it may sound like something your English teacher may make you do for homework, but it is much cooler. You just enter a bunch of random text and then it converts it into a jumble. From there, you can format it with font or color. It is embeddable, so its kinda cool. Click on my cloud to get the site. Next is a breakout artist that tantalizes listeners with the sweet sounds of a ukeleyle. Now I am sure i butchered that spelling, but her song My Hope is great. Listen for yourself when done reading below. Oh her name. Sorry I forgot to mention that critical piece of info. She goes by sweetafton23. She has a you tube account and a myspace, as far as I know, so don't be afraid to explore.

Whoops, sorry about that Alex, I forgot to give you credit on that one! Note: Alex wrote the Twilight Zone thing.

So, Alex, Kudos on that whole Brit thing... It reminds me of Monty Python. (If you haven't ever heard of Monty Python, either look it up now or go screw a pig. There is no excuse for liking our type of humor and not knowing the Python. Anyway, I wouldn't count on the first podcast that soon. After we find a damn camera and load the files up to the computer, then I have to figure out the RSS coding for it, and then go through the podcasting motions... So, I think that before we get to the iTunes Store, we will have a YouTube channel and a nice wildlife conservation fund named after us.

More to come;
Jordan

PS: If anyone is reading this blog other than the two of us, would you kindly let us know by dropping us an e-mail at our addresses? I'd appreciate it; I'm just interested.

First Post from Alex

Hola. It's Alex here, just saying hello. This is my first official post, even though the twilight zone one was written by me. Just testing it out. Check out our site if you haven't already: oddcast.biz.ly
I am actually surprised this idea got off the ground. Me and Jordan had tons of things like this, that never went anywhere. Hopefully we can share some of those things on our site with you. Our first podcast video should come up around this weekend, then it will get more frequent (hopefully) because school is out. Really though, don't take that as a guarantee, because honestly, I haven't the foggiest. (I have been itching to slip that phrase in something for a couple days now. The Brits are awesome)
Dear unsuspecting reader,
I believe the best way to sum up what you are about to do was already said by the great Rod Serling himself (for those of you who aren't looking it up right now, Rod Serling was the narrator of the Twilight Zone):

"You're traveling through another dimension -- a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind. A journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination. That's a signpost up ahead: your next stop: the Twilight Zone!"

Of course, you aren't entering the twilight Zone, you are on the OddCast site. (And by the looks of the kid with the bird on his shoulder, we are already, and probably have been for some time, in the twilight zone.) So watch out, because this website will definitely provide you with some stale humor, clever political insight (well, clever through the eyes of a teenager, anyway... I guess that doesn't count for much...) and some useful things that you will need to know if you are to get by in life at all.

The OddPod Team
Alex and Jordan
It actually just occurred to me that despite the fact that we already have a website, a blog, a tall building in NYC and a wildlife conservation effort, we still don't have a single podcast.

When we first thought of this idea, it didn't occur to us that we would need a camera or anything. So right now, we've sorta got a cheap artist from New Zealand and a soundboard guy from Russia talking about thinking about making a podcast.

But hey, who needs actual material? Dane Cook gets by with almost none, and most of it relates in around three degrees to a vagina.

So anyway, we're just gonna continue blogging away and webmastering, and publishing crude content. Oh, and by the way, our ALC list has reached I think 5 people. Of course, you can't see it yet because I forget how to scan stuff in as text files, and I left my flash drive in my locker, so c'est la vie. Whatever the hell that means.

Look out next week for our YouTube channel and Wildlife conservation efforts, plus our HD TV channel. And look out the week after that for some good entertainment, cuz that's the week we get a video camera and miniskirts.

Students, that's what we like to call foreshadowing and you'd do well to remember it.
